School Partnerships

Church/School ReSponse Hub

School Districts have asked One Hope to serve as a Communication Hub and liaison for churches, as they are respond at a district level. We are creating a space to connect churches with each other and specific school requests. This is a work in progress.

1) Food boxes

School counselors are identifying the most isolated families who do not have access meals or transportation. Churches can respond by creating food boxes or by delivering food boxes created by Food for Lane County sites.

Steps to take:

  1. Contact your Partner School | Ask them if there are families that are unable to access food.

  2. Create Weekly Food Boxes | If your church is able to create food boxes on a weekly basis, work with the school counselor’s suggested system to connect the food to the families with need. (Here’s a place to start: rice, beans, cans of tuna, or chicken, peanut butter, bread, bagels, oatmeal, pasta, tortillas, fresh fruit and veggies.)

  3. Deliver Meals | Your church may be able to pick up meals from an existing Food for Lane County Pantry. Please ask your partner school to provide family names and the number of people in the household. Then call the food pantry ahead of time, to give them a heads up, and see if they are available to meet this need. Your church then can pick up the meal boxes, and deliver them to the school.

2) Please tell us if/how you are serving the schools.

This will help us assess church resources, assist the districts and our collaborative efforts.

Feel free to contact the school you already serve. Please don’t call the districts, per their request.  They are asking us to serve as a Hub for communication.

3) Is your church available to meet family needs?

Schools will receive personal need requests from families. If you would like to be contacted when family needs arise, please use the spreadsheets below to share the ways your church may be able to help.
