Families Helping Families

This week the Springfield School District leaders reached to us at One Hope with a big ask for The Church…

“Can families in churches adopt families who have barriers, and deliver food boxes once a week until June 12th?"

They currently have at least 60 families reaching out to the district requesting help with food. We are hearing of this need from all three school districts, and Jesus followers are responding.

There are many churches already partnering with a local school to provide food in some form. However, this is a very unique opportunity to have Jesus people connect regularly for the next seven weeks with a very isolated or hidden family.

The Process

1) Families interested in creating & delivering a weekly meal box should sign up here

2) Those who sign up will receive an invitation to a 15 minute zoom training and receive details.

3) Following the zoom call, each family will receive a name and address of the family they will serve by dropping off a food box each week. These names are coming to One Hope from the Springfield School District office.

4) Once the family is matched, food boxes can be purchased/created by the family who is delivering weekly. Another option is to access a Food pantry at Crossfire, Willamalane, or others, getting a food box to deliver.

We feel this is a great door for disciples to be looking outward, making consistent connections and spreading hope and love throughout our community!

It is fairly time sensitive as the district has continually been discovering families each week with this need.
