Why pray for 10 strategic spheres?

“Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted . . .”

Every society has certain spheres that shape its culture. When the kingdom of God and Jesus’ people influence these areas, entire communities have potential to be transformed. Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” When heaven comes to these areas, our community's culture is impacted as a whole and the witness of Jesus is more clearly seen.

We’ve identified 10 influential spheres that contribute to our community’s unique identity: Family, Education, Business, Health Care, Government, the Arts, the Police & Fire Departments, Media, Sports and the Church. Monthly we invite God to transform these areas of our community.

WHAT ARE STRATEGIC TEAMS?

For every sphere featured on the Community Prayer Guide, a team of Jesus-following leaders who are involved in those spheres, gather monthly to pray and discuss how we ought to pray. They create meaningful, relevant ways for the churches to pray with their God-given insight as representatives from their sphere.

ANSWERS TO PRAYER

As we pray, we expect to see the Lord answer - the Bible is full of promises that He will! When we pray and God answers, God receives glory and we get to experience the joy of answered prayer.
