Project Hope | Serving Schools & Kids’ Fair 2014

On August 23rd and 24th, we joined together to serve local public schools, teachers and administrators, and students and families in our community. On Saturday, we prepared school grounds for the upcoming school year. On Sunday, we held our annual Kids’ Fair and school supply giveaway.  It was a wonderful weekend expressing Jesus’ love, and thank you for the part you played in Project Hope!

On Saturday, August 23rd, many churches and ministries joined together to spruce up more than 30 local schools before students returned for the school year.  Thank you everyone who joined in by weeding, trimming, painting, spreading bark, cleaning and organizing rooms, power-washing, and window cleaning!

On Sunday, August 24th, people from more than 40 churches and ministries came together to host 4 Kids’ Fairs and Back-to-School Giveaways. While, kids and their families waited in line, they could play group games, have their faces painted, and play on inflatables. Then when the giveaway began, every student received a backpack full of school supplies, new shoes, a meal provided by a local restaurant, and the option of a free haircut!

All of this could not have been done without the many people who served with joy, flexibility, and the love of Jesus! Thank you to everyone who served a local school by weeding, painting or sweeping, and we’re grateful for every person who participated in the Kids’ Fair and Giveaway, making it a delightful time.  To everyone who gave financially through churches to purchase backpacks, our shoes donors, and the restaurants who provided many meals for the families we served… Thank you!  Lastly, thank you for every prayer that the love of God would be tangibly seen and experienced during Project Hope. It’s a joy to love Jesus in this community with you!
